Americans Reject Democrats’ Champagne Communism

As Democrats Drift Further Leftward and “Democratic Socialists” Take Over the Party, Senate Democrats Prove Their Fealty to the Far Left

“Democrats are still in thrall to the far left of their party. They still have the same priorities that turned voters off from Democrats in the last election.” – Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.)

SO-CALLED “DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS” AROUND THE COUNTRY ARE SCARING THE DEMOCRAT PARTY INTO DOING THEIR BIDDING – WHILE EVERYDAY AMERICANS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT DEMOCRATS’ COMMUNIST IDEOLOGY

  • Recent Democrat primaries have demonstrated the party’s radical lurch to the left – the winners’ “positions are some of the most extreme & far left Dems have seen:”
    • “Darializa Avila Chevalier (NY-13): Abolish prisons, abolish ICE, abolish borders, defund the police, and ‘all deportations are wrong’, including for violent criminals. She has called the U.S. an ‘effing disgrace’, and said in a prior social media post ‘I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me.’”
    • “Claire Valdez (NY-7): Grant citizenship and voting rights to illegal aliens, use taxpayer funds for all transgender treatments, & eliminate private health insurance.”
    • “Brad Lander (NY-10): Abolish ICE, forgive all student loans (almost $2 trillion worth), expand the Supreme Court.” (Fox News’ Bill Melugin: post on X – 6/23/26)
    • “‘It’s time to pack the court and establish term limits to reclaim our judiciary,’ [Democrat Congressional nominee Chris] Rabb wrote in a post.”
    • Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Abdul “El-Sayed’s campaign website calls the Supreme Court a ‘major impediment for democracy.’” (Bloomberg Law: Campaigning Democrats Amplify Calls to Overhaul Supreme Court – 7/8/26)
  • “Political parties tend to harshly reject the idea that they are a threat to the constitutional order, but the Democratic Socialists of America [DSA] are making it part of their brand.”
    • “The DSA has released a new program that, besides contemplating the advent of a classless society, calls for abolishing the US Senate, the presidency, and the Supreme Court.”
    • “This is literally a revolutionary program to topple the American system as we have known it since 1789.”
    • “The socialists have met the enemy — and it is our own longstanding, highly successful governing institutions.” (New York Post: op-ed: DSA revolutionaries aim to topple the Senate — and the Constitution, too – 7/21/26)
  • But Americans don’t support this radical ideology or the upheavals it espouses:
    • 66% of voters, including 63% of Independents and 51% of Democrats, believe communists pose a threat in the United States. (The Economist/YouGov Poll – July 2026)
    • 79% of voters, including 80% of Independents and 67% of Democrats, support “Deporting immigrants who are here illegally and have committed crimes.”
    • 67% of voters, including 67% of Independents and 49% of Democrats, support “Banning men who have undergone operations and hormones to become women from girls’ sports.”
    • 78% of voters, including 80% of Independents and 68% of Democrats, think “we are better off with free enterprise” than socialism.
    • 62% of voters, including a majority of Democrats, think that when socialism has been tried in other countries it “mostly devolved into harsh dictatorships.”
    • 79% of voters, including 80% of Independents and 75% of Democrats, think the Supreme Court is supposed to “Defend the constitution regardless of public opinion.” (Harvard-Harris Poll – July 2026)
    • In 2024, when Democrats were last in charge and President Biden released a slew of radical Supreme Court proposals, a mere 29% of Americans supported increasing the number of Supreme Court justices. (Annenberg Public Policy Center Poll – 9/12/24)

DESPITE AMERICANS’ DISAPPROVAL, INCUMBENT DEMOCRATS ARE TAKING NOTICE OF THEIR PARTY’S LEFTWARD LURCH, ESPECIALLY AFTER GETTING THROWN UNDER THE BUS BY PROGRESSIVE ACTIVISTS OVER THE PAST YEAR

  • Incumbent Democrats have gotten the memo, happily embracing the DSA’s platform of institutional destruction:
    • “Democrats are telling the public they are plotting one of American history’s most destabilizing power grabs, by degrading the third branch of government.” (The Wall Street Journal: Editorial: Democrats Promise to Wreck the Supreme Court – 5/31/26)
    • “The Supreme Court is a disgrace. In the new Congress, we’re going to have to do something about this Supreme Court, and let me be very clear: Everything is on the table—everything to deal with this corrupt MAGA majority.” – House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.)
    • “The leaders of several prominent House Democratic caucuses are proposing a Supreme Court overhaul… Their resolution obtained by POLITICO calls for the expansion of the Supreme Court and to establish term limits and a code of ethics for justices.” (Politico: Key House caucus leaders target Supreme Court, Senate filibuster – 6/24/26)
  • On the rare occasions when Democrats do participate in basic bipartisan governance, they get thrown under the bus by left-wing groups:
    • Amid Democrats’ record-breaking 43-day shutdown last year: “Democrats across the country are furious at their party for agreeing to reopen the federal government without key health care demands, and they’re taking it out largely on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).” (HuffPost: Knives Are Out For Chuck Schumer After Democrats Cave On Shutdown – 11/10/25)
    • Some Democrats’ support for the bipartisan Laken Riley Act last year is becoming a flashpoint in left-wing primary challenges across the country. (The Washington Post: Left-wing challengers are beating House Democrats. These incumbents could be next. – 7/13/26)
    • And now, “Liberal group Demand Justice is slamming Michigan Sen. Slotkin for turning in her blue slip for Michael Martin,” President Trump’s nominee to serve as U.S. district judge for the Eastern District of Michigan. (Punchbowl News’ Laura Weiss: post on X – 7/22/26)

TIME AFTER TIME THIS CONGRESS, SENATE DEMOCRATS HAVE BLOCKED COMMONSENSE REPUBLICAN MEASURES AND ESCHEWED BASIC BIPARTISAN LEGISLATING IN THE NAME OF LEFT-WING APPEASEMENT

  • Blocking the Bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA): The $1.15 trillion NDAA heavily emphasizes innovation and procurement of munitions, Air Force fighters, shipbuilding, and unmanned systems and includes over 1,100 member priorities from every senator and 86 bipartisan amendments. (U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services: Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act – accessed 7/23/26; Sen. Wicker: Chairman Wicker Issues Statement on the NDAA – 7/15/26)
    • By blocking consideration of the NDAA, Senate Democrats voted against priorities such as cracking down on Russia’s shadow fleet and a slew of authorization provisions. (The Hill: Senate Democrats block $1.15 trillion defense authorization bill – 7/14/26;U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services: Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act – accessed 7/23/26)
  • Defunding Border Security and Law Enforcement: After ending Democrats’ historic 76-day shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, Republicans passed the Secure America Act, “a roughly $70 billion package to fund ICE and the Border Patrol through the end of President Donald Trump’s term.” (CBS News: Trump signs bill funding DHS, ending record-breaking 76-day shutdown – 4/30/26; NBC News: Republicans pass bill to fund ICE and Border Patrol through the end of Trump’s term – 6/9/26; U.S. Congress: S. 2 – Secure America Act – accessed 7/23/26)
    • “Unlike during Trump’s first term, it’s not just progressives taking up the ‘defund ICE’ banner. The idea is proliferating even among the more moderate and establishment wings of the party.” (Axios: Inside Democrats’ brewing war over the resurgence of “defund ICE” – 1/12/26)
  • Embracing Government Shutdowns: After refusing to take the appropriations process seriously when they were in charge, Senate Democrats doubled down last year, shutting down the entire federal government for 43 days. (Punchbowl News: AM: Schumer on the shutdown: ‘Every day gets better for us’ – 10/9/25; Associated Press: Trump signs government funding bill, ending record 43-day shutdown – 11/13/25)
    • Fall 2025: “Hundreds of thousands of federal workers are going without pay; millions of Americans who depend on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for food are set to miss payments starting this weekend; and air-traffic staffing shortages are causing groundstops across the country. Congressional Democrats are under real pressure to cave — and they aren’t. And that’s genuinely surprising the progressives that pushed Democrats to leverage the government funding fight over expiring health care subsidies in the first place.” (NOTUS: The Democratic Base Is Very Happy With Their Members In Congress — For Once – 10/29/25)
