WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made the following comment regarding the March for Life, which will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016, in our Nation’s Capital:
“Tens of thousands of Americans will gather in Washington to give voice to the voiceless by rallying for the rights of the unborn. Participants in the March for Life remind us that a compassionate nation is one that fights to defend the most innocent. Like them, I believe that the lives of the unborn are precious and deserve to be treated with dignity. That’s why I led a Republican Senate to vote on a bill to protect unborn children after 20 weeks in the womb. I am also proud that, after recent videos revealed the repugnant practices of Planned Parenthood, the Senate sent to the president’s desk legislation to defund it. Those who march should be encouraged in the knowledge that the Senate hears them, and that senators like myself are working to advance a more just and humane society that values innocent life.”
