McConnell Statement on Jerome Powell

‘I’m encouraged by President Trump’s choice of Jerome Powell to lead the Federal Reserve during this economic recovery.’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following statement regarding the president’s intention to nominate Jerome Powell to serve as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System:

“I’m encouraged by President Trump’s choice of Jerome Powell to lead the Federal Reserve during this economic recovery. We need a more transparent and accountable Fed, and Jerome has indicated the same. I look forward to discussing Jerome’s vision for the Fed and our nation’s monetary policy soon.”
