McConnell Statement on SCOTUS Immigration Ruling

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement today after the U.S. Supreme Court let stand the lower court’s decision in United States v. Texas, preventing the implementation of the president’s unlawful executive overreach on immigration:

“Today’s ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court will prevent the Obama Administration from moving forward with its unlawful executive action on immigration. The President took action he’d previously said, many times, that he lacked the legal authority to take. This ruling further underscores the importance of a president who acknowledges and respects the separation of powers as well as a Supreme Court that defends these constitutional principles. I am pleased that the court’s decision blocked this partisan power grab.”
