100 Days of Promises Made, Promises Kept

In His First 100 Days in Office, President Trump Has Kept His Promises to the American People: Ending Biden’s Border Crisis, Unleashing American Energy, and Standing for Common Sense.

PRESIDENT TRUMP PUT A HALT TO THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S BORDER CRISIS, GOING FROM RECORD HIGH BORDER CROSSINGS TO LOWS NOT SEEN IN DECADES

  • “You wouldn’t know it from the lack of coverage, but President Trump has already accomplished one of his top priorities—controlling the U.S. border with Mexico.” (The Wall Street Journal: Editorial: Trump’s Border Success—and Opportunity – 4/16/25)
  • On day one, President Trump declared a national emergency at the southwest border, directing “the Secretaries of Defense and Homeland Security to finish the wall along the southern border,” as well as surging personnel to secure the border. (White House: Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Declares a National Emergency at the Southern Border – 1/22/25)
  • The Trump administration “reinstated the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy, ending a program that released asylum seekers into the U.S. while their cases were considered.” (Axios: Tracking Trump's executive orders: What he's signed so far – 1/28/25)
  • In the first two full months (February and March) of the Trump administration, there were fewer than 23,000 border encounters by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the southwest border, levels “not seen in decades…”  (U.S. Customs and Border Protection: Southwest Land Border Encounters – accessed 4/28/25; New York Post: Illegal border crossings hit record lows after Trump’s swift crackdown — and could be on track for levels not seen in 60 years – 2/13/25)
  • Under the Biden administration:
    • During the same February and March time period in 2024, CBP recorded nearly 380,000 migrant encounters along the southwest border. (U.S. Customs and Border Protection: Southwest Land Border Encounters – accessed 4/28/25)
    • On the whole, illegal border crossings hit record levels, totaling 10.5 million migrant encounters along the southwest border, including known gotaways. (U.S. Customs and Border Protection: Southwest Land Border Encounters – accessed 4/15/25; Fox News’ Bill Melugin: poston X – 8/20/24The Washington Post: Trump vs. Biden on immigration: 12 charts comparing U.S. border security – 7/28/24)
  • Senate Republicans and President Trump worked together to make the Laken Riley Act law, “marking the first piece of legislation to become law in his second administration.” (Fox News: Trump signs Laken Riley Act into law as first legislative victory in new administration – 1/29/25; S. 5: Roll Call Vote #7 – 1/20/25)
    • “The measure, which advanced through the House and Senate in January, directs Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain illegal immigrants arrested or charged with theft-related crimes, or those accused of assaulting a police officer. The law also allows states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for harm caused to their citizens because of illegal immigration.” (Fox News: Trump signs Laken Riley Act into law as first legislative victory in new administration – 1/29/25)

PRESIDENT TRUMP ENDED THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S WAR ON AMERICAN ENERGY, PAVING THE WAY TO UNLEASH ENERGY PRODUCTION HERE AT HOME

  • On his first day in office, President Trump declared a national energy emergency with the overarching goal of boosting America’s energy supply and infrastructure in order to bolster economic and national security.  (White House: Declaring A National Energy Emergency – 1/20/25)
    • Senate Republicans unanimously voted against a Democrat joint resolution that sought “to ‘terminate’ Trump’s national emergency declaration,” ignoring the harm caused by the Biden administration’s failed energy policies. Every Senate Democrat voted to go back to President Biden’s anti-energy policies. (S.J.Res. 10: Roll Call Vote #95 – 2/26/25; The Daily Wire: Senate GOP Fights Dems To Preserve Trump’s Day-One Energy Emergency Declaration – 2/25/25)
  • Just a few months into the Trump administration, the Department of the Interior announced that offshore energy production “saw record growth,” and “[i]ndustry projections indicate offshore production could surpass 2 million barrels per day by 2025-2026, marking an all-time high for the U.S.” (U.S. Department of the Interior: Department of the Interior Drives Unprecedented Offshore Energy Growth Under President Trump – 3/28/25)
  • In March, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum announced that the Bureau of Land Management would reopen 82% of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A) “to leasing and expanding energy development opportunities in the approximately 23-million-acre reserve,” along with reinstating “a program that makes the entire 1.56-million-acre Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge available for oil and gas leasing” as outlined in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. (U.S. Department of the Interior: Interior Secretary Takes Steps to Unleash Alaska’s Extraordinary Resource Potential – 3/20/25)
  • In contrast, the Biden administration levied bans on domestic oil and gas drilling production as energy prices were dramatically increasing:
    • President Biden announced an order banning new offshore oil and gas drilling in most U.S. coastal waters, accounting for 625 million acres of ocean. (CBS News: Biden bans new offshore oil and gas drilling in most U.S. coastal waters – 1/6/25)
    • The Biden administration banned all oil and gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and all drilling in over 13 million acres of land in the NPR-A. PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS ENACTED COMMONSENSE POLICIES BOTH DOMESTICALLY AND ON THE WORLD STAGE

  • President Trump acted to support women and girls in sports by ensuring that they are able to compete on a fair playing field. The president’s order “rescind[ed] all funds from educational programs that deprive women and girls of fair athletic opportunities” and made it “the policy of the United States to oppose male competitive participation in women’s sports more broadly, as a matter of safety, fairness, dignity, and truth.” (White House: Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports – 2/5/25)
    • Senate Republicans also sought to address this critical issue, holding a vote on Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s (R-Ala.) Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. All voting Senate Democrats united to successfully filibuster the bill. (Sen. Tuberville: Tuberville Introduces Hallmark Legislation to Preserve Title IX, Protect Women’s Sports – 1/7/25; S. 9: Roll Call Vote #100 – 3/3/25)
  • Responding to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) threat to Israeli and American sovereignty, President Trump declared a national emergency to impose sanctions on the ICC and entities that aid its efforts to target Israeli and American citizens. (The Wall Street Journal: Editorial: The ICC’s Assault on Israel—and the U.S. – 11/21/24; White House: Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court – 2/6/25)
    • Senate Republicans voted “to impose sanctions with respect to the International Criminal Court engaged in any effort to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute any protected person of the United States and its allies,” but the bill was filibustered by all but one Senate Democrat. (H.R. 23: Roll Call Vote #22 – 1/28/25)
  • The Trump administration launched an offensive against the Houthis “after the Houthi terrorist group once again renewed its threats against Israeli vessels” and fired at the U.S. Navy in March. (Fox News: After debilitating strikes, Trump tells Houthis: Stop shooting at us and 'we will stop shooting at you' – 3/31/25; ABC News: Trump says Iran will suffer 'dire' consequences for any more Houthi attacks – 3/18/25)

(The Associated Press: Biden revokes terrorist designation for Yemen’s Houthis – 2/5/21; White House: Designation Of Ansar Allah As A Foreign Terrorist Organization – 1/22/25)
  • President Trump also issued an executive order to “combat antisemitism vigorously, using all available and appropriate legal tools, to prosecute, remove or otherwise hold to account the perpetrators of unlawful antisemitic harassment and violence.” (Jewish Insider: Trump to ‘marshal all federal resources’ to fight antisemitism with new executive order – 1/29/25)
