McConnell on Meeting with President’s Nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services

McConnell asks him to ‘make combatting the opioid epidemic, which has devastated families across Kentucky and the nation, a top priority.’

WASHINGTON, D.C. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released the following statement after meeting with President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Alex Azar:

“Alex and I had a productive meeting. We discussed his outlook and vision for a Department that oversees some of the nation’s most important programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, the Centers for Disease Control, and the National Institutes of Health. I also asked him to make combatting the opioid epidemic, which has devastated families across Kentucky and the nation, a top priority.”
